PATRICK VIEIRA SET TO TAKE UP NEW COACHING ROLE

Arsenal legend Patrick Vieira is set to be appointed as the new head coach of the Senegal national team.
Football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports that Vieira has reached an agreement with the Senegalese Football Federation and is expected to take charge of the Teranga Lions with immediate effect.
The former Crystal Palace boss had been in discussions with the federation over the vacant position and has now emerged as the preferred candidate to lead the national team.
Vieira will replace Pape Thiaw as Senegal’s head coach.
The Frenchman has previously managed clubs including Strasbourg, Nice, Genoa and Crystal Palace.
