PDP GOVERNORS MEET IN ZAMFARA AHEAD OF NATIONAL CONVENTION

The Governor of Zamfara State, Dauda Lawal, will host his fellow governors from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Gusau on Saturday, August 23, 2025, for a strategic meeting intended to influence the party’s trajectory in advance of its national convention.

The governors are anticipated to arrive in Gusau on Friday evening to prepare for the private session arranged for Saturday.
In a statement issued by the spokesperson for the Zamfara State Governor, Sulaiman Bala Idris, the meeting is characterized as a crucial assembly to discuss significant political strategies and promote unity within the party.
“Governor Dauda Lawal extends a cordial invitation to his peers, the governors of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP),” the statement indicated.
“The governors are gathering today (Friday) for a vital session of the PDP Governors Forum. Governor Lawal will host a dinner this evening, in anticipation of tomorrow’s strategic meeting. ”
The statement further emphasized that the gathering will serve as a platform for party leaders to tackle urgent political concerns, enhance internal solidarity, and collaborate on developmental projects across their respective states.
Moreover, the governors will deliberate on preparations for the forthcoming national convention, organized by the PDP National Executive Committee (NEC), set to occur in Ibadan, Oyo State, on November 15 and 16, 2025.
