PETER OKOYE FIRES BACK AT RUDEBOY OVER ALLEGED SHADE

Peter Okoye, one-half of the now-defunct Afrobeats duo P-Square, has accused his twin brother, Rudeboy, of taking advantage of public criticism against him to tarnish his image.

Peter made the allegation on Wednesday while responding to Rudeboy’s reaction to his controversial comments about the value of Nigerian languages.

The controversy began after Peter replied to a fan’s question by asking, “Who Naija language help?”—a remark that sparked widespread criticism on social media.

Seemingly distancing himself from the statement, Rudeboy wrote in a series of posts on X: “I’m a ‘nobody’. I repeat! A nobody! Without the culture, native, language.”

Responding to the posts, Peter accused his brother of using the backlash against him as another opportunity to attack him publicly.

“But again, bro, you’re at it again, using this moment as another opportunity to pull me down. Just like I wrote in my open letter two years ago, doing everything possible to make people hate me will never work,” he wrote.

He acknowledged the criticism over his comments but alleged that Rudeboy had deliberately misrepresented his remarks.

“Yes, people are dragging me over my statement, and that is okay. I accept that. But deliberately twisting my words and using petty tactics to damage my reputation says a lot.

“I don’t know why you look for every opportunity to make derisive comments or jump on the bandwagon whenever I am being attacked,” Peter added.
