Nigerian activist Martins Otse, popularly known as “VeryDarkMan” offered ₦20 million to anyone who can share video proof that Naira Marley personally assaulted or ordered men to beat the late singer Mohbad.

Shortly after VDM’s bold offer, a screenshot from the late singer’s video showed injuries on his body after some group of young men allegedly sent from Naira Marley beat him up.

The Media reminds readers that Mohbad had publicly accused Naira Marley of orchestrating the assault after he demanded a change in management, claiming Marley was present when his associates attacked him .

Social media users have suggested that VDM may have been financially incentivized to overlook the involvement of the music executive and his associate, Sam Larry, in the controversial incident. This follows alleged claims made by Iyabo Ojo concerning the “Soapy” hitmaker.

The media reported that Mohbad shared a detailed statement on X (formerly Twitter), recounting how Naira Marley allegedly orchestrated an attack on him after he expressed a desire to change his manager. According to Mohbad, he went to Naira Marley’s house with two friends in an attempt to resolve the issue peacefully, but they were assaulted so severely that they had to be hospitalized.

He also emphasized that Naira Marley not only coordinated the assault but was present during the incident and gave instructions to those involved.

In 2023, Mohbad’s close friend and fellow artist, Bella Shmurda, disclosed in an interview that the late singer once attempted to take his own life, amid growing tensions with Naira Marley. He recounted that Mohbad’s girlfriend caught him sitting on a window ledge, apparently about to jump.

Bella further revealed that despite this troubling episode and the fact that Mohbad was battling hypertension, the record label continued to act as though nothing was wrong.
