REMI TINUBU EMPOWERS 800 WOMEN, COMMISSIONS NEW KOGI TREASURY HOUSE

The Wife of the President, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, on Saturday empowered more than 800 women in Kogi State and commissioned two major public projects during her one-day visit to the state.
The projects unveiled include the newly completed Kogi State Treasury House and the Primary Healthcare Centre located at Lokongoma Phase I in Lokoja.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, Senator Tinubu described the projects as valuable investments aimed at strengthening public service delivery and improving the wellbeing of residents.
She also praised Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for his commitment to advancing healthcare, infrastructure development and other people-oriented initiatives across the state.
She said, ”Quality healthcare and efficient public institutions are essential to national development. Residents should protect and make good use of the facilities.”
At the Government House in Lokoja, the First Lady also flagged off the distribution of empowerment materials and start-up grants to more than 800 women under the Renewed Hope Initiative.
She said the programme was aimed at promoting self-reliance, strengthening household incomes and creating economic opportunities for women and other vulnerable groups.
The Renewed Hope Initiative was designed to complement the government’s efforts through social intervention programmes targeting women, youths, children and persons living with disabilities,” she stated.
Tinubu urged the beneficiaries to use the support to expand their businesses, improve their livelihoods and contribute to the development of their communities.
She also commended the wife of the Kogi State Governor, Hajia Sefinat Ododo, for her efforts to improve the welfare of women, families and vulnerable persons in the state.
Ododo thanked the First Lady for visiting Kogi State and for supporting the administration of President Bola Tinubu.
He said his administration would continue to implement projects that improve access to healthcare, infrastructure and other essential public services.
The governor also assured that the newly inaugurated facilities would be properly maintained for the benefit of residents.
The visit featured interactions with women’s groups, community leaders and beneficiaries of the empowerment programme, who expressed appreciation for the intervention
