ROSE DUNG TAKES OVER AS 32ND COMMISSIONER OF POLICE, SPECIAL FRAUD UNIT LAGOS

Mrs. Rose Dung, the newly appointed Commissioner of Police for the Special Fraud Unit (SFU) in Lagos, has officially taken over as the 32nd officer to head the unit.
Her appointment follows the promotion of her predecessor, Okunade Ronke, to the rank of Assistant Inspector-General of Police, AIG.
The development was confirmed in a statement issued by the Unit’s Public Relations Officer, Deputy Superintendent of Police, DSP, Ovie Ewhubare.
Mrs Dung, who hails from Owan West Local Government Area of Edo State, holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology from the former Bendel State University, Ekpoma, now known as Ambrose Alli University.
She joined the Nigeria Police Force on May 18, 1992, as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police. Following her training at the Nigeria Police Academy Annex in Kaduna, she began her policing career at the Abia State Police Command.
With more than 30 years of service, Mrs. Rose Dung has held numerous strategic roles across various formations and commands. Her previous positions include Divisional Police Officer in Agbara, Ogun State; Commandant of the Police Training School in Iperu; Assistant Commissioner of Police (Administration) in Ondo State; and Deputy Commissioner of Police (Administration) in Bauchi State. Prior to her current appointment, she served as the Commissioner of Police in charge of Welfare at the Force Headquarters in Abuja.
A highly decorated and seasoned officer, Mrs. Dung has completed numerous leadership and strategic training programs and is affiliated with esteemed international organizations, such as the International Association of Chiefs of Police and the International Association of Women Police.
Upon taking office, she expressed gratitude to the Inspector-General of Police for the trust placed in her. She pledged to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, ensure strict adherence to the rule of law, and diligently execute the Unit’s anti-fraud responsibilities.
