SEVEN KILLED, SEVEN INJURED IN NIGER ROAD CRASH

Seven people have been killed while seven others sustained injuries in a road crash involving a Toyota Sienna and a Mazda vehicle along the Kutigi-Bida Road in Niger State.

The accident occurred around 11:30am on Sunday at Shebe Village along the Kutigi-Bida Road.

The Mazda, which was travelling from Minna to Mokwa, reportedly entered a blind corner and collided with the Toyota Sienna travelling from Lagos to Minna.

According to reports, the Mazda had departed from the Mobil Motor Park with eight passengers on board, while the Sienna was also fully occupied.

Seven occupants of the Mazda died in the crash, while a teenage girl, the only survivor in the vehicle, was reportedly unconscious as of the time of filing the report.

The seven passengers in the Sienna sustained injuries, while four other occupants reportedly escaped unhurt.

The accident has also prompted authorities to search for relatives of the teenage girl who survived the crash.

Confirming the incident on Sunday night, the Niger State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Aishat Saadu, said 18 people were involved in the crash.

Saadu said seven people were killed, seven sustained injuries, while four others were not injured.

She said the accident occurred around 11:30am along the Kutigi-Bida Road at Shebe Village.
