Hamid said the incident triggered panic among residents, raising fresh concerns about the security situation in the area.

She added that military personnel pursued the suspected kidnappers, leading to the rescue of some victims, although the assailants reportedly escaped.

As of the time of filing this report, the exact number of people rescued and the whereabouts of those still missing had yet to be confirmed.

The latest attack has renewed concerns about the safety of residents in Millennium City, a developing residential area that has recorded several kidnapping incidents in recent years.

Residents have repeatedly raised the alarm over the activities of suspected kidnappers, particularly attacks targeting residential estates and communities on the outskirts of Kaduna metropolis.

The incident has also highlighted concerns over security lapses at estate entrances and the need for improved access control, effective surveillance and prompt responses to distress calls.

NAN recalled that suspected kidnappers abducted Ahmed Abubakar Zakka, his wife and their infant daughter, Fatima, from Alrahus Estate in Millennium City on the night of October 6, 2026. The family members were later rescued.

On October 12, 2026, police authorities reportedly announced the arrest of eight suspected kidnappers and four alleged informants during operations around Millennium City and Maraban Rido. AK-47 rifles were also recovered during the operations.

The arrests highlighted the importance of sustaining intelligence-led operations to dismantle kidnapping networks and apprehend individuals suspected of supplying information to criminal groups.

The latest attack has intensified calls by residents for stronger security measures, particularly around estate gates and access routes that could be exploited by criminal elements.

The Kaduna State Police Command had yet to issue a statement on the incident as of the time of filing this report.
