The Executive Chairman of Lau Local Government Council in Taraba State, Peter Julius Vau, has officially defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

The defection took place on Wednesday in Lau, the council’s administrative headquarters.

Speaking at the event, Vau stated that his decision was guided by a commitment to promoting unity, progress, and sustainable development within the council.

He emphasized that joining the APC would enhance opportunities for political inclusivity and facilitate the implementation of development initiatives across the local government area.

Vau reassured residents that his administration remains dedicated to maintaining peace, strengthening community cohesion, and delivering effective governance under the APC platform.

The defection represents a notable development in the political landscape of Lau Local Government Council. It follows a similar move by the Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, his cabinet, and 16 members of the Taraba State House of Assembly, who also defected from the PDP to the APC.
