By Aishat Momh. O.

The Minister of Regional Development, Uba Maigari Ahmadu, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his strong commitment to regional development, following the commissioning and inspection of several projects executed by the North East Development Commission (NEDC) in Bauchi State.
Ahmadu gave the commendation during an ongoing project handover and inspection tour across the state, assuring residents that the Federal Government would continue to initiate and support development projects tailored to the specific needs of the Northeast region.
The minister expressed surprise at the scale of interventions carried out by the NEDC, noting that the commission has delivered multi-billion-naira projects across Bauchi State.
As part of its three-day visit, the NEDC handed over a fire station and fire truck to Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU), commissioned three mega schools across the state’s three senatorial districts, renovated the Tomb of Nigeria’s late Prime Minister, Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa, and constructed a Medical Emergency and Ophthalmology Centre at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH).
The commission also inspected the ongoing construction of the Government Secondary School located along Airport Road.
Reacting to the development, Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, who commissioned the newly completed NEDC state office, praised the commission for its vision and impactful contributions to the development of the Northeast.
Governor Mohammed reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to sustained collaboration with the Federal Government and its agencies to accelerate development and improve the welfare of citizens.
He assured the delegation of Bauchi State’s continued support for NEDC projects, pledging to provide an enabling environment that would ensure effective implementation, accountability, and maximum benefits for communities across the state.
