President Bola Tinubu has expressed condolences over the death of former Delta State Governor Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan, highlighting his contributions to the state during and after his tenure, which ended in 2015.

In a condolence message issued on Monday, Tinubu said Uduaghan remained committed to public service after completing his two terms as governor, continuing to contribute to democratic governance in Nigeria.

Uduaghan, who reportedly died at the age of 71, governed Delta State from 2007 to 2015.

The President also recalled his earlier roles in the state government, where he served as Commissioner for Health and later as Secretary to the State Government before becoming governor.

Tinubu noted that Uduaghan’s eight years in office marked a significant period in Delta State’s political and developmental history.

He added that the former governor remained an influential figure in the state’s political and socio-economic affairs after leaving office, contributing to the advancement of democracy and public service.

According to the President, Uduaghan pursued several development initiatives during his tenure, particularly in infrastructure, healthcare delivery and the general welfare of Delta residents.

Tinubu urged the people of Delta State to draw comfort from the late governor’s years of service and the lasting relationships he built across Nigeria’s political and social landscape.

“At this difficult time, I urge the people of Delta State to draw strength from the late governor’s years of service and the enduring relationships he built across the political and social terrain of our country,” Tinubu said.
