TINUBU POLLS 915,840 VOTES IN KANO, BORNO APC PRESIDENTIAL PRIMARIES

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has secured a combined total of 915,840 votes in the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary elections conducted in Kano and Borno states ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In Kano State, Tinubu garnered 500,852 votes to defeat his lone challenger, Mr. Osifo Osayamen Stanley, who polled 2,675 votes during the exercise held across the 44 local government areas of the state.
The results were officially announced on Saturday at the Kano State Government House during the collation of results from the various councils.
Deputy President of the Senate, Barau I. Jibrin, disclosed that he participated in the primary election in his ward in Kabo Local Government Area before proceeding to the Government House for the final collation.
According to him, Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, served as the state collation officer for the exercise.
Barau stated that the primary election was conducted peacefully and transparently, with returning officers from all 44 local government areas presenting their results before party officials and observers.
He said the successful conduct of the exercise reflected the widespread acceptance and support enjoyed by President Tinubu across Kano State.
The senator further noted that officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), including the Kano State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Ambassador Abdu Zango, as well as heads of security agencies, monitored the exercise.
Barau described the outcome of the primary election as a clear indication of what to expect during the January 16, 2027 presidential election, predicting a sweeping victory for the APC at all levels.
He also congratulated Tinubu over what he described as a landslide victory in the presidential primary election.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the APC Congress Committee for the governorship primary, Barrister Mukhtar Shagari, presented a certificate of affirmation to Governor Yusuf as the party’s governorship candidate for the 2027 election in Kano State.
In Borno State, Governor Babagana Umara Zulum declared Tinubu winner of the APC presidential primary after securing 414,988 votes across the state’s 27 local government areas.
Announcing the results at the APC State Secretariat in Maiduguri on Saturday night, Zulum, who served as the state collation officer, said the exercise was conducted peacefully across all councils.
He disclosed that 430,715 voters were registered for the primary election, while about 416,000 delegates and party members were accredited for the exercise.
According to the governor, Tinubu secured all the valid votes cast in the state, while his challenger, Stanley Osifo, recorded zero votes.
“Therefore, I, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, the State Collation Officer, hereby announce President Bola Tinubu, who scored 414,988 votes in Borno State, as the winner of the presidential primary election in Borno State held today,” Zulum declared.
Top APC stakeholders present during the announcement included the Deputy National Chairman (North), Hon. Ali Bukar Dalori; Senate Chief Whip, Senator Mohammed Tahir Monguno; Speaker of the Borno State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Abdulkarim Lawan; members of the National and State Assemblies, commissioners, and other party officials.
