Media personality Toke Makinwa has publicly introduced her daughter, Yakira, for the first time, days after revealing how motherhood has transformed her life and joking that people should now “speak to her differently.”
Makinwa shared photos of her daughter on her official social media pages to celebrate Yakira’s first birthday, marking the child’s first public appearance since her birth.
The unveiling comes shortly after the media personality disclosed that she was taking her daughter to London for an elaborate first birthday celebration.
In a video shared online, Makinwa said becoming a mother had given her a new perspective on life.
“Y’all need to chat with me differently now. I’m the mother of a one-year-old. I’m flying her to London for her birthday party,” she said.
She also expressed gratitude to God for the gift of motherhood, saying she had been blessed with a healthy daughter and that her prayers throughout the pregnancy had been answered.
