TROOPS APPREHEND SUSPECTED KIDNAPPER WITH GUN IN EDO

Troops from the 4 Brigade of the Nigerian Army carried out Operation WABAIZIGAN and said they caught a person who is suspected of kidnapping.They also found an AK-47 rifle and some bullets during the operation.This happened on a specific road between Benin and Sapele in the Ikpoba-Okha area of Edo State.
The suspect, named Olamide Oyeniyi, was caught by soldiers who were carrying out operations to stop illegal activities and protect important roads in the Obaretin Community area.
Items found with the suspect include one AK-47 rifle, one ammunition clip, and eight rounds of 7.62mm Special bullets.Other things found are one Tecno mobile phone, two bags, one flashlight, one music box, and various charms.
The suspect and the items are now being held by military personnel for more investigation.
They are also working to find out if the suspect is connected to other criminal groups and to check if he was involved in kidnapping and other related activities along the route.
The Nigerian Army is continuing to stop criminal groups from acting freely and to keep communities and important roads safe.
They are also working with other security groups to improve safety in Edo State.
