Veteran Nollywood actress Omotunde Ogundimu has opened up about her struggle with cervical cancer, revealing the emotional, physical and financial challenges she has faced since being diagnosed with the disease in 2025.

The actress made the disclosure during an interview with fellow actress Biola Adebayo on the Talk to B podcast on Tuesday.

Speaking about her health condition, Ogundimu said she has been battling severe pain while undergoing treatment. She explained that the illness has placed a significant financial burden on her and her family, particularly her three children, who have been supporting her medical expenses.

Ogundimu, a widow who lost her husband in 2012, said her children have exhausted much of their resources in efforts to care for her, leaving her with no choice but to seek public assistance.

Appealing to Nigerians for support, the actress said she is determined to overcome the illness but currently lacks the resources needed to continue her treatment.

She also alleged that she has struggled to secure acting roles in recent years despite spending more than three decades in the film industry.

According to her, repeated appeals to colleagues for job opportunities have yielded little response, a situation she believes has contributed to her financial difficulties.

The actress further appealed to anyone she may have offended in the course of her career to forgive her, expressing hope that reconciliation and support from colleagues could help her navigate the difficult period.

Ogundimu said her primary desire is to regain her health and continue caring for her family, while thanking those who have already offered assistance during her battle with the disease.
