The pupils and teachers abducted in Orire Local Government Area of Oyo State have expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu and security agencies following their rescue from captivity.

In a video shared by the Presidency on Friday after they regained their freedom, the victims thanked the President for his commitment to ensuring their safe return and commended security operatives for their efforts during the rescue operation.

“We are grateful, Mr. President, sir. We are grateful. We understand your commitment to our safety, and we appreciate all you did for us. We could see it in your heart. Thank you very much,” one of the rescued victims said.

The victim also praised the security personnel involved in the operation.

“And every security operative tried so much and that is why we are still alive now. We are very grateful to you. Thank you very much.

“Thank you, sir. Thank you, sir. God bless you, sir. God bless you, sir. Thank you, sir,” the victim added.

HOTJIST had earlier reported that the abducted pupils and teachers had regained their freedom.

The development was announced on Friday by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

In a post on his verified X handle, Onanuga confirmed the rescue by security agencies.

“Finally, all the kidnapped pupils and teachers in Orire, Oyo have been rescued by our security agencies,” he wrote.
