VIDEO: VIRAL CLAIM OF LAGOS–CALABAR COASTAL HIGHWAY WASHOUT PROVES FALSE

Some viral claims suggesting that portions of the Lagos–Calabar Coastal Highway have been washed away has proven to be false.
Checks carried out on Thursday revealed that the road remains intact, contrary to the image circulating online.
A traveler who traveled along the Lagos–Calabar Coastal Highway on Thursday confirmed to us that the report is false.
The resident said the image does not reflect the current state of the road, saying: “I just drove on that road this morning down to Ode-Omi after the Lekki Free Trade Zone and I didn’t see any portion of the road looking like this,” she explained in a video reaction.

The clarification comes after growing concerns on social media over the integrity of the ongoing coastal highway project.
Authorities and stakeholders have continued to urge the public to verify information from credible sources before sharing.
The video was released following concerns raised online after a picture alleged to show severe erosion on the newly constructed highway began trending.
