WIKE-ALIGNED PDP FACTION SUSPENDS BODE GEORGE, 23 OTHERS IN LAGOS

A faction of the Lagos State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) loyal to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has announced the suspension of former Deputy National Chairman of the party, Chief Bode George, alongside 23 other members over alleged anti-party activities.
The suspension was contained in a statement issued on Friday and signed by the Chairman of the party’s disciplinary committee in Lagos State, Kayode Ogunbiyi, and its secretary, Desmond Agbo.
According to the committee, the decision followed a meeting held on May 26, 2026, during which several petitions bordering on alleged anti-party activities and violations of the PDP constitution were reviewed.
The statement said the committee could no longer tolerate actions capable of causing disunity within the party.
“The decision to suspend George and other erring members was contained in the resolution of the meeting held on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, where various petitions were presented against certain notable personalities and other members bordering on issues of anti-party activities and deliberate infractions of the PDP Constitution,” the statement read.
The committee further stated that it reviewed an earlier disciplinary action reportedly taken against Bode George by the party’s National Executive Committee and reaffirmed his suspension.
It added that George “remains suspended as earlier pronounced,” while all affected members are barred from participating in party activities or representing the PDP in any capacity within the state.
Other affected members include Aduke Maina, Abimbola Ogunkelu, Laja Adeoye, Tunji Shele, Sunday Olaifa, Gbenga Adegbesan, Rita Orji, Kofoworola Bucknor and Onikepo Oshodi, among others.
The disciplinary committee also alleged that some members were collaborating with rival political parties or engaging in unauthorized political activities contrary to the interests of the PDP.
It warned that legal action could be taken against any suspended member found acting in defiance of the party’s directives.
Bode George, a prominent PDP chieftain and long-standing figure in Lagos politics, has recently been associated with internal disagreements within factions aligned to Nyesom Wike and other power blocs in the party.
