Lanre Etti Jr. : Buhari’s aides should not come with their usual they-want-to-embarass-the-President refrain
Buhari’s aides should not come with their usual they-want-to-embarass-the-President refrain.
This is unacceptable. The President should accept responsibility for the mess. He chose to wait until September before putting together his cabinet and he expected them to prepare a national budget devoid of manipulation by December?
If the President claims he does not know how prices were inflated in the 2016 budget, then who will argue with Jonathan if he says he wasn’t privy to Dasuki’s cash distribution?
On the other hand, i believe the Nigerian Presidency is understaffed. PMB cannot govern a huge country like Nigeria solely on the advice of Femi Adesina, Garba Sheu and Ita Enang. He needs to appoint experts as Special Advisers who will work with him alone. Ministers are busy with the day to day running of their ministries and fighting perceived political opponents.
Take a leap away from the numerous overly hyped corruption cases and you will realize nothing significant is happening.
If a government is taking 10 months to learn the ropes of governance, how many will be needed to CHANGE the country?
PS: I am still a big fan of the APC led government, but I’m not happy with the way things are being done. 3 years is not too small for a turnaround.
