Manchester United will come back stronger, insists Eric Bailly
Eric Bailly is backing Manchester United to return stronger next season following their unimpressive campaign.
Jose Mourinho’s men ended the term without silverware after their 1-0 defeat to Chelsea in the FA Cup final.
Also, they were bundled out in the fifth round of the League Cup by Championship side Bristol City and only made it to the last 16 in the Champions League.
And, although, they finished second behind Premier League champions Manchester City, they were 19 points adrift, and 24-year-old Bailly is hoping the Old Trafford outfit will learn and bounce back to winning titles next season.
“We would have liked to have finished the season by winning the FA Cup,” Bailly posted on Instagram.
“Unfortunately, it was not to be. Nevertheless, we’ve wrapped up a season in which there were ups and downs.
“Now it’s time to stop, to learn from this season, to rest, and to enjoy our families and friends so we can come back next season even stronger.
“We’re eager to set new goals and to see lots of smiles in the stands at Old Trafford next year.
“Thanks for the support you have given the entire team throughout the season. And especially, thank you very much for the love you have always shown me. Let’s go United!
“And good luck to my teammates who are playing in the World Cup!”
The Cote d’Ivoire international made 18 appearances for the side last term across all competitions owing to injury.
