Turkish club Galatasaray have announced they have opened talks with
Premier League side Everton over a loan move for Nigeria forward Henry
Onyekuru.
The Yellow and Reds have confirmed via their Twitter handle that they
have held ‘formal negotiations’ with the Tofees over another temporary
switch for the forward who spent time with Anderlecht last term.
Onyekuru scored nine goals in 19 league appearances for Anderlecht
during that period but returned to Everton in January this year due to
an injury which ruled him out for several months and subsequently, the
World Cup.
The 21-year old joined Everton in June 2017 for a £7 million deal from AS Eupen.
Premier League club, Arsenal had earlier been linked with a move for
the striker during his time with Eupen when he scored over 20 goals in
the 2016/17 campaign.
Onyekuru has a five-year contract with Everton and was shipped out on
loan to Anderlect last season.
He has insisted he will not return on loan to the Belgian club after
he blamed them for missing the final cut to the World Cup with
Nigeria.
Gala have also been widely linked to Nigeria World Cup hero Ahmed
Musa, whose future at Leicester City remains uncertain after he
returned from a successful loan stint at former club CSKA Moscow.
