Report says former Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho has rejected a chance to manage the Chinese national team

A personal friend of the Portuguese coach, who is a football agent, Giovanni Becali revealed that the former Real Madrid boss had received a blank cheque offer from the Chinese federation to take up the job which he turned down.

The Romanian representative told a Romanian sport media outfit about his recent visit to see Mourinho in London and their conversations;

“We met for breakfast in a hotel by his house,” Becali said.

“He told me that he’d received an offer from China to manage the national side and they put a blank cheque in front of him.

“He said to me, ‘Giovanni, I’m 54 and I want to work in Europe for five more years and then, when I’m 60, I’ll go to China.”

Mourinho recently confirmed his intentions of getting back into management whilst appearing as a pundit for DAZN.
