MEET KEMI ADEGOKE, THE NIGERIAN NEWLY APPOINTED UK MINISTER
Kemi Badenoch is replacing Nadhim Zahawi as the new children’s minister, under the leadership of Boris Johnson.

Badenoch is a British Conservative politician and Member of Parliament for Saffron Walden. Adegoke was born in Wimbledon, London to parents of Nigerian origin. Her childhood was spent in Lagos, Nigeria and the United States and she moved to the United Kingdom at the age of sixteen. She has a degree in Computer Systems Engineering at the University of Sussex and has worked as a software engineer and systems analyst.
Badenoch joins new education secretary Gavin Williamson, schools minister Nick Gibb and universities minister Jo Johnson in the new team at the Department for Education.
Nadhim Zahawi has taken up his position at the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy.
