
AHMED MUSA, CHUKWUEZE, 2 OTHERS OUT OF EAGLES SQUAD FOR ALGERIA FRIENDLY

Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa and Samuel Chukwueze, have been dropped from the Super Eagles’ squad for international friendly match against Algeria next Tuesday.
The friendly match is scheduled for Tuesday, September 27 at the Miloud Hadefi Stadium in Oran.
Godwin Saviour and Ebube Duru have been brought in as replacements.
“We’re regrouping again for a friendly against Algeria on September 27, 2022. Quick update: Injured (Ruled out of the friendly): Musa, Chukwueze, Balogun, Onyekuru. Replacements: Ozornwafor, Godwin Saviour, Ebube Duru, Dennis.”
Musa, who started for Sivasspor for the first time on Sunday in their 2-1 loss to Ankaragucu, was replaced by Clinton N’Jie after 19 minutes after he fracturing his left hand in a tussle with a defender.
Leon Balogun and Henry Onyekuru were omitted from the squad earlier due to injuries.
Musa joined Sivasspor on September 2 from Fatih Karagumruk and has played just two matches coming off the bench
The 29-year-old is Nigeria’s most-capped player in history, having played 106 matches since his debut, aged just 17 in 2010. He helped the Eagles win the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations and also featuring in the last two World Cups.
