LAGOS PDP CANDIDATE SEEKS SUPPORT OF TRADITIONAL LEADERS, VOWS TO BRING DEVELOPEMENT TO BADAGRY
Lagos People’s Democratic Party’s gubernatorial candidate in 2023 election, Abdul-Azeez Adediran (Jandor), has seek the blessings of the traditional rulers in Badagry to emerge winner in the coming election.
In an interactive session with the traditional rulers, Adediran said, “it is predestined by God that I get PDP ticket.”
While congratulating the people of Badagry, Adediran who identifies as the son of the soil said no one considers Badagry Division for governorship seat in Lagos State since the return of democracy.
“I was raised here in this palace, my fathers and mothers are here. It is our turn to serve. I have not come to play politics but to seek your blessings.
“You are the fathers of all and we have come to seek your blessings. We are not at war with anybody and our government would be for the masses,” he continued.
In his research, Adediran said he discovered that Badagry; one of the three traditional ruling divisions; is left behind in terms of development and infrastructure.
The PDP candidate assured the rulers that his administration will bring development to the division and transform it into an investment destination.
“Theres no way I become a governor and not develop here.
“If there can be a developed place like banana island somewhere, we can create coconut island here.”
“My team and I have decided to tour all the wards in the state and it is Badagry’s turn,”
Adediran’s running mate, Funke Akindele; warmly welcomed by the women of the division; revealed her intentions to prioritize women and children amongst other matters.
“I am not born a politician but I put aside my career in other to fulfill a higher purpose.
“We are tired of the mismanagement of the current government, people are suffering. Let’s vote Jandor to turn things around for us.”
Earlier, Akindele while speaking at the palace, called for the entire support of the royal fathers and people in the division to put an end to the suffering of the people.
She revealed that she joined Adediran in order to give hope to women, children and the youths in the state.
Adediran, while addressing teeming party’s supporters at the palace said that his team had prepared to run a humane government that would prioritise masses’ interests.
Speaking on behalf of the traditional rulers in the division at the palace, the Oniworo of Iworo Kingdom, Oba Oladele Kosoko said: “Only a child will not know what Badagry Division is going through.
“Whoever God has chosen to help our division will get there. We, as fathers, will continue to pray for you.”
He urged the politicians to campaign base on issues and avoid violence.
Among the traditional rulers present are Oba Oyekan Ajose, the Alapa of Apa Kingdom, Oba Saheed Adamson, the traditional ruler of Ajido Kingdom in Badagry.
