NIGERIA TOO IMPORTANT TO BE LED BY ANYONE BUT ASIWAJU – LAGOS DEPUTY GOVERNOR FEMI HAMZAT
By Farouq Oduola A.
The deputy governor of Lagos, Obafemi Hamzat, claims that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressive Congress is the only candidate who possesses the required skills to lead Nigeria. He claims that Nigeria is too important to be managed by individuals who lack the necessary experience.
Hamzat stated that with well over 200 million people, Nigeria has the largest black population in the world and that it is therefore too important to give it to people who don’t have the experience to run it.
The deputy governor made this disclosure at the unveiling of the Jagaban Arcade at Mile 12 area, which was organised by the joint efforts of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA, Agoyi Ketu LCDA, and Kosefa LGA.
The event, which marked the end of the campaign ahead of the presidential and governorship elections, was held at the Mile 12 International Market in front of a large crowd.
Hamzat claims that politics is more localised than merely employing deceptive tactics on social media.
“It is the politics of your community that matters; all politics is local, so someone can’t use shady tactics on Twitter and other social media.
“We need someone who has broad public support, is well-known in the East, South, West, and North of the nation, and has developed bridges across the ethnic diversity of the nation. Therefore, only Tinubu can bring development to the locals.”
He stated that Tinubu was the only person who was able to enhance the state’s revenue and that all of the challenges the nation is currently experiencing are revenue-related.
He disproved the popular social media claim that Tinubu is not physically capable of leading the country. “During this campaign, this man has been to every part of our country,” he claimed.
In his account of Tinubu’s tenure as governor of Lagos state, Hamzat described him as a role model for others.
“He is the first governor to appoint members of different tribes to his cabinet.
“Asiwaju is a trailblazer who clears the way for others. My hope is that we don’t blow this chance. It takes the nation 50 more years to recover from every opportunity it misses, so I pray that we don’t miss this one.
Later, the deputy governor urged Kosofe LGA residents to support all APC candidates running at for federal, state, and local levels, highlighting the need for honorables and senators to support a president’s policies and ensure good administration.
Hamzat also urged Lagosians to continue supporting Governor Sanwo-Olu and cast their votes for him once more during the gubernatorial election.
“He knows the way and he is doing projects.”
While speaking to the gathering at the Mile 12 market, Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada, the mayoress of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA, conveyed her thanks to the Arewa community for always being devoted to and supportive of the APC.
In order to vote for APC candidates at the state and federal levels, she also asks for more support at the polling places in local government.
Folashade Tinubu-Ojo, the daughter of the APC presidential candidate and the Iyaloja of Nigeria who was also in attendance, expressed her belief that the Kosofe Federal constituency will fulfill their part in ensuring that Tinubu is elected president of the country after complimenting the consistently supportive market leaders.
Alhaja Kafilat Ogbara, the house of representative candidate of the Kosofe Federal Constituency 1 assured the people of the constituency of their utmost attention saying, “we are one family. We will answer you whenever you call on us.”
Chief Cornelius Ojelabi, the chairman of the Lagos APC party, Sen. Tokunbo Abiru, and Hon. Femi Saheed, a member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, among others, were also in attendance.
