TRANSFER: MADRID EYE DUAL SUMMER RAID FOR CHELSEA’S HAVERTZ, JAMES
Real Madrid are reportedly planning a summer raid on Chelsea duo Kai Havertz and Reece James.
The Spanish giants are laying down the groundwork to bring different players on board in the summer with Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham also among their top targets ahead of the summer.
James’ emergence as a target is considered a long term replacement for aging Dani Carvajal while Havertz is expected to replace Karim Benzema.
The highly rated defender just signed a long-term contract at Stamford Bridge that would keep him committed until 2028, so the La Liga giants will need to offer a hefty sum to persuade Chelsea to sell him.
Havertz was reported to have been Madrid’s top target while he was still in the Bundesliga back in 2020, they now have a renewed interest for Chelsea’s highest goal scorer.
The Blues might be tempted to sell both players in order to balance their FFP are their spending spree in the earlier transfer window.
