CHELSEA TO DEMAND £70m FOR MASON MOUNT FROM INTERESTED CLUBS

Chelsea will demand £70million from clubs who are interested in signing Mason Mount this summer, as per reports.

The England international’s future at the club is under some doubt, with the two parties yet to reach an extension on his current deal which expires at the end of next season.

Chelsea, as reported, would rather sell him now than risk losing him for free in the summer of 2024 if an agreement is not reached before the end of the current season.

Liverpool and Manchester United are among Premier League clubs interesting in signing the 24-year-old, but fresh reports emerging from Germany this week have suggested that new Bayern Munich boss Thomas Tuchel is keen to reunite with the midfielder.

Chelsea is eager to raise money in order to balance their FFP after spending over £600 million on new players during the previous summer.

The Athletic have now reported that they hope to make £70m from Mount this summer, if they can’t come to terms with him on a new deal.

It remains to be seen whether their valuation is realistic, given that clubs could sign him up on a free transfer once his contract expires in 2024.

Both Manchester clubs, Newcastle and Tottenham have all monitored developments surrounding Mount, but the club with perhaps the most serious interest in the Premier League is Liverpool.
