NPFL 23/24: GTI TAKES DELIVERY OF BROADCAST EQUIPMENT (VIDEO)
Strategic partners to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), GTI Asset Management & Trust Limited has taken delivery of the broadcast equipment to be used for the OTT live-streaming of the matches for the 2023/2024 NPFL season from Propel Sports Africa.
GTI/TNFF Head of Media and Publicity, Andrew Ekejiuba confirmed the development to journalists in Lagos on Monday when one of Nigeria’s finest and celebrated sports journalist, Mitchell Obi visited GTI’s Corporate Office to inspect the equipment which arrived in the country on Friday last week. Obi arrived GTI office on Monday afternoon in the company of another veteran sports journalist, Niran Adesanya of Radio Now 95.3 FM Lagos.
Obi who could not hide his feeling hailed GTI and the Nigeria Premier League(NPL) board led by Hon. Gbenga Elegbeleye for fulfilling their promise to soccer fans in the country to ensure that NPFL matches are beamed to the global audience beginning from the upcoming season with the state-of-the-art AI cameras courtesy of Propel Sports Africa.
“This is the real changer! I’m the happiest man on earth today on seeing this equipment. It shows that we are good to go this season,” Obi began.
“This is wonderful and has confirmed that our elite league is destined for the top.
“I’m proud to see this great history being made in our lifetime because this is the first time such a technology is going to be deployed in the country. No league in the African continent have what we have now and we all must celebrate this accomplishment.
“I want to thank NFF, GTI, NPL board and Propel Sports for adding value to our domestic league.”
Also reacting, Adesanya said the NPFL is destined for the moon.
“Nothing is going to hinder our elite league from being on top of world ranking going forward. We have a transparent league system in place, talented players abound in the country and GTI has ensured that funds are no longer a major problem to the NPFL. So we are in the mood to showcase our talented players to the world.
“Under GTI and NPL board arrangement nothing is going to stop us,” Adesanya affirmed with great optimism.
It could be recalled that GTI secured the services of Propel Sports Africa prior to the end of last season as a major broadcast partner to the NPFL and the company will be saddled with the responsibility of OTT live-streaming of NPFL matches for the upcoming season.
Meanwhile, GTI’s Executive Director, Nelson Ine has revealed that Propel Sports Africa crew will be in the country soon to commence the training of cameramen who will man these sensitive AI cameras and production materials ahead of the 2023/2024 NPFL season commencing on August 26, 2023.
