
3 INJURED AS TRUCK RAMS INTO 6 VEHICLES IN LAGOS
……3 injured persons rushed to Gbagada General Hospital by Lastma officials
Operatives of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) today confirmed that a fully loaded tanker rammed into 6 vehicles while on motion around Gbagada bridge inward Ifako along Oworonsoki Expressway, Lagos.
Lastma Oduyebo Oluwole ‘Zebra’ (Zone 2) disclosed that the accident caused severe congestion for road users moving from 3rd mainland bridge going towards Ifako by Oworonsoki Expressway.
Priliminary investigation revealed that the driver of the fully loaded tanker after lossing control due to brake failure rammed into 6 other vehicles (3 commercial vehicles, 3 private cars & 1 Lastma bike) while descending Gbagada bridge inward Ifako on the expressway.
Lastma Oluwole confirmed that those casualties were severely injured and rushed to Gbagada General Hospital for medical treatment by a Lastma Trooper who was also among those wounded during the accident.
He confirmed further that while the accident occured around 6:10pm today, Policemen from Alonge Police Station at Oworonsoki were equally at the scene of the accident.
The General Manager of LASTMA Mr Bolaji Oreagba however called on the Association regulating activities of tanker operators to always educate their drivers on the need to observe speed limit whenever they are driving on public roads.
