NAPOLI PRESIDENT INVESTIGATED OVER FALSE ACCOUNTING IN OSIMHEN PURCHASE
Napoli President, Aurelio De Laurentiis is under investigation in Rome for false accounting charges, reports have confirmed on Tuesday.
The Capitoline prosecutors have entered the president of Napoli in the register of suspects, an act required after the transmission of the documents by the Neapolitan prosecutors.
The proceeding is linked to the alleged fictitious capital gains surrounding the purchase of Victor Osimhen. The Nigerian striker, last championship’s top scorer, was bought in 2020 by the French team Lille.
Osimhen was purchased with 52 million supplemented by the sale of goalkeeper Orestis Karnezis and three Primavera players of the time, who had never actually been employed by Lille, Luigi Liguori, Claudio Manzi and Ciro Palmieri, who today navigate between Serie C and Eccellenza. They were recorded in the balance sheet at 21.3 million, a capital gain figure that the Prosecutor’s Office considered suspicious.
