The Management Staff of Lagos State Health District III have been exposed to a training initiative aimed at empowering them with essential communication skills, memo writing proficiency, and opportunities for personal development.

The senior government officials were trained during a two-day retreat organised by the Health District in collaboration with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

Speaking during the retreat held recently in Lagos, the Permanent Secretary of the Health District, Dr. Monsurat Adeleke said that by honing the skills of participants in communication and memo writing, the Staff will be better equipped to articulate ideas, convey information clearly, and foster cohesion within their teams.

She added that the emphasis on personal growth during the retreat, aims to empower individuals to unlock their full potential, both personally and professionally, thereby enhancing their overall effectiveness as leaders within the District.

According to the Permanent Secretary, “The initiative seeks to equip employees with the tools and knowledge necessary to excel in their roles while promoting collaboration and innovation across departments.

“Additionally, the retreat incorporates elements of personal growth and self-discovery, with sessions designed to encourage reflection, goal setting, and the cultivation of a growth mindset among participants”, she noted.

Dr. Adeleke stated that the retreat underscores the commitment of the Lagos State Health District III to excellence and continuous development, aligning with the broader goals of the Lagos State Government to enhance the quality of healthcare services and governance across the State.
