OGUN LG ELECTION SET TO HOLD NOVEMBER 16
The local government elections in all 20 of the state’s local government areas are scheduled for Saturday, November 16, 2024, by the Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission.
This was revealed in a statement on Tuesday by Babatunde Osibodu, the state’s commission chairman.
He stated that the stakeholder meeting and rules for the elections would be released on Thursday, August 8, 2024, and that the political parties’ campaigns would start on Friday, August 9, 2024.
“The political parties are also scheduled to hold their party primaries between Monday, August 26 to Monday, September 9, 2024,” he said.
About a week ago, elected local government officials concluded their terms, and civil servants assumed leadership at each local government council around the state while new chairs were chosen.
