
MAN POURS HOT OIL, STABS WIFE DURING DISAGREEMENT IN OGUN
Operatives of the Ogun State Police command have arrested a man, Sholola Kazeem, for allegedly pouring hot oil on his wife, Sholola Mutiat and also stabbed her in the head.
The command spokesperson, CSP Omolola Odutola, who disclosed this to newsmen in Abeokuta, said the incident happened on Saturday at Ring Road community, in Owode Egba area of Obafemi/Owode local government area of the State.
According to Odutola, Kazeem committed the offense during an uncontrollable anger over a misunderstanding with his wife.
The statement reads, “the Divisional Police Officer in Owode Egba division has promptly intervened in a case involving gender-based violence and assault against a housewife, leading to the arrest of her husband for causing various injuries to her”.
“On January 18, 2025, at about 12:20 hrs the divisional police officer received a report from members of the Ring Road community regarding an incident involving Sholola Kazeem, a male resident, and his wife, Sholola Mutiat, who reside at the same address”.
“It was reported that Sholola Kazeem, in an uncontrollable anger over a misunderstanding, poured hot oil over his wife’s body and also stabbed her in the head”.
“The victim was taken to Ore Ofé Hospital for medical attention, and the crime scene was examined”.
“The suspect has been apprehended and is currently under investigation”.
“Updates will be provided as more information becomes available”.
