The Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN) has announced the suspension of its strike and instructed members to resume their duties on Wednesday, June 4, 2025.

A communique from the National Vice President of the association, endorsed by ten other leadership members, announced the conclusion of the strike following extensive discussions and meetings with Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, and other stakeholders. It was agreed that the judiciary union (JUSUN) would involve the Chief Justice, the Minister of Labour and Employment, and the Nigeria Labour Congress in their efforts. The agreement stipulates that suspending the strike would enable the union to negotiate with the Federal Government to secure judiciary funding within a month.

A recent communique revealed that upon the release of funds to the Judiciary, the demands of the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN) will be addressed. This includes the immediate implementation of the new minimum wage of N70,000 along with its arrears, a salary increase of 25/35%, and a wage award for five months and their respective arrears. The communique was signed by the JUSUN National Vice President, the National Assistant Financial Secretary, and various chairs of the JUSUN chapters across multiple judicial bodies, including the Federal Judicial Service Commission, Court of Appeal, and FCT High Court, among others.
