Renowned Nigerian vocalist, Tiwa Savage, has denied widespread allegations that she deliberately disseminated her intimate video to maintain her prominence.

Media outlets reported that the singer’s explicit footage gained significant attention on social media in 2021, following her refusal to comply with a blackmailer.

In the aftermath of the released video, Tiwa Savage faced criticism and accountability for not succumbing to extortion.

Nevertheless, during her recent conversation with American radio station Hot 97, she articulated the trauma she experienced.

“I was bashed for my sex video. Lot of people think I was just trying to get sympathy. Even people with platforms were quite horrible and blamed me.

“I don’t know how they couldn’t see me as the victim in this. They said I did it to be relevant. If I were doing that, I would’ve been intentional about it. I would have used better lighting, lingerie, and my facial expressions would have been on point.”
