POLICE ARREST THREE ARMED ROBBERY SUSPECTS, RECOVER TRICYCLE IN ANAMBRA

The Anambra State Police Command has apprehended three individuals in Awarasi Village, Uga, Aguata Local Government Area of the state, for armed robbery, and has also recovered a stolen tricycle from them.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the representative for the state command, Tochukwu Ikenga, announced that the suspects were taken into custody on Monday.
Ikenga indicated that their apprehension was a result of a distress call received by the command regarding an incident in which a commercial tricycle operator was assaulted at Isuaniocha Bridge, Awka North LGA, by armed assailants who deprived him of his yellow tricycle bearing registration number NZM 92 YH.
He stated, “On September 21, 2025, at about 2.20 pm, the Command received a distress call on how a commercial tricycle operator was attacked at Isuaniocha Bridge by armed men who dispossessed him of his yellow tricycle with registration number NZM 92 YH.

“Police operatives attached to the Special Anti-Cultism Squad swiftly mobilised to the scene, and the victim was rescued and rushed to the hospital, where he is responding to treatment.
“In the same vein, and acting on technology-guided intelligence, the operatives traced the suspects to Awarasi Village, Uga, Aguata LGA, and recovered the stolen tricycle. ”
He mentioned that during the operation, the suspects, who attempted to flee upon noticing the police officers, were pursued and ultimately apprehended.
“The suspects include: Kosisochukwu Nweke, ‘M’ aged 26 years, Emmanuel Eze ‘M’, aged 24 years and Osondu Ifeanyi ‘M’, aged 20 years respectively.
“Meanwhile, efforts are ongoing to uncover more leads related to their criminal activities, while the suspects shall be charged in court upon the conclusion of the investigations,” Ikenga added.
