KANO POLICE ARREST DEPUTY GOVERNOR’S DRIVER AFTER RECOVERING STOLEN CAR

The Kano State Police Command has retrieved a Toyota Hilux vehicle that had been stolen from the Office of the Deputy Governor and has apprehended an individual associated with the larceny.

As noted in a police report, the vehicle was located and reclaimed in the early hours of Wednesday subsequent to a swift and coordinated operation conducted by security personnel.

The individual, recognized as a long-term and pensioned driver affiliated with the Deputy Governor’s office, was detained and is presently assisting authorities with the ongoing investigation.

In a statement released on Wednesday, the Press Secretary to the Deputy Governor, Ibrahim Shu’aibu, characterized the incident as “a blatant violation of trust by the apprehended driver. ”

“The Deputy Governor’s Office acknowledges the swift response and professionalism exhibited by the Police and other security agencies involved in the recovery initiative,” the statement indicated.

According to the announcement, the state government reaffirmed its commitment to protecting lives and property, both within and beyond the confines of the Government House.
