RENOWNED NIGERIAN MUSICIAN AKIN SHUGA DIES IN CANADA

Popular Nigerian live band leader, Akinloye Tofowomo, widely known as Akin Shuga, has passed away at the age of 50.
His death was confirmed in a statement issued by his family on Monday.
According to the statement, Akin Shuga passed away on October 30, 2025, in New Brunswick, Canada.
The statement described the Shuga Band founder as “a revered music icon and custodian of rhythm, culture, and the spirit of performance.”
The family noted that details of the funeral arrangements would be announced in due course.
In the meantime, they appealed for privacy and a period of quiet reflection during this deeply difficult time.
Akin Shuga is survived by his wife, children, siblings, and mother.
