The All Progressives Congress (APC) has released the names of 47 senatorial aspirants who were not cleared to participate in its Senate primary elections ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The list was contained in a statement issued on Monday and signed by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka.

According to the APC, the screening exercise was conducted by its Screening Committees in line with established procedures and guidelines.

“The screening exercise was conducted by the Party’s Screening Committees in accordance with established procedures and guidelines,” the statement read.

Among the notable names on the list is former senator Ben Murray-Bruce, who represented Bayelsa East, as well as Benson Agadaga, also from the same district.

Rivers West Senatorial District recorded the highest number of disqualified aspirants, with four candidates affected. These include Oyukaye Flag Amachree, Tamunobaabo Wemike Danagogo, Jack-Rich Tein, and Banigo Ipalibo.

Zamfara State also recorded a significant number of disqualifications, with seven aspirants across its Central, North, and West districts failing to secure clearance.

However, the party did not provide specific reasons for the disqualification of the affected aspirants.

Other affected states include Adamawa, Anambra, Bayelsa, Cross River, Delta, the Federal Capital Territory, Jigawa, Kebbi, Kwara, Nasarawa, Niger, Oyo, Plateau, Taraba, Yobe, and Zamfara, with multiple aspirants listed under various senatorial districts.

The development comes amid ongoing party preparations for the 2027 general elections, including screening and primaries across all levels of elective offices.
