OHCSF CONDEMNS ABDUCTION OF CIVIL SERVANTS IN KOGI, CALLS FOR SWIFT RESCUE

The Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF) has expressed deep concern over the abduction of several civil servants around Kabba, Kogi State, who were reportedly kidnapped while travelling to Abuja to participate in the ongoing Computer-Based Test (CBT) promotion examinations conducted by the Federal Civil Service Commission.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, by the Director of Information and Public Relations, Eno Olotu, the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, OON, mni, extended heartfelt sympathy to the abducted officers, their families, and their colleagues across various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).
She described the incident as distressing and called for calm while assuring that the government was working closely with security agencies to ensure the victims’ swift and safe rescue.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with them during this most difficult time, and we join all well-meaning Nigerians in fervent prayers for their safe and speedy release,” Walson-Jack said.
The Head of Service expressed confidence in the capacity of the nation’s security agencies to apprehend the perpetrators and secure the release of the victims.
She also reaffirmed the Federal Civil Service’s unwavering commitment to the welfare, safety, and well-being of its workforce, urging all civil servants and the general public to remain vigilant.
“We stand together as one Civil Service family united in faith, hope, and solidarity praying earnestly for the safe return of our colleagues. Their safety and well-being remain our utmost priority,” she stated.
