Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has pledged the support of the people of Kano for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general election, expressing confidence that voters will back the President for a second term to sustain his development agenda.

Yusuf made the declaration on Wednesday while representing Tinubu at the commissioning of a section of the Abuja–Kaduna–Zaria–Kano Highway at Tamburawa in Kano State.

The governor commended the President for the infrastructure projects being undertaken by the Federal Government, noting that the highway would improve transportation and connectivity across Northern Nigeria.

He also observed that several projects executed by the Tinubu administration had not received sufficient publicity.

“I have seen many projects the President has executed that have not been publicised. I could go on and on listing the projects and initiatives of this administration,” Yusuf said.

He expressed confidence that Kano residents and Nigerians in other parts of the country would vote for Tinubu in the next general election to ensure the continuation of his development programmes.

“The people of Kano will come out en masse to vote for President Tinubu, not only in Kano but across the North-West, the South and the country at large, to ensure the continuation of his development projects,” he added.

Also speaking at the event, the Minister of Works, David Umahi, declared that Nigeria had passed the worst phase of its economic hardship, insisting that the reforms introduced by the Tinubu administration were beginning to yield positive results.

Umahi said the reforms were delivering the benefits of democracy and urged Nigerians to remain supportive of the President.

“The reforms have started to yield dividends of democracy. Even in the darkest hour before dawn, there is hope. Let us support President Bola Tinubu,” he said.

The minister cited ongoing road construction projects in Kano and other parts of the North-West as evidence of the administration’s commitment to infrastructure development.

He also said the Federal Government was working to complete projects inherited from the late President Muhammadu Buhari.

“There is no project started by the late President Buhari that President Bola Tinubu is not doing in the North,” Umahi stated.

Among the projects he listed were the Kano Northern Bypass, Kano Ring Road, Kano–Kongolam road and Zaria–Hunkuyi road. He also mentioned the Sokoto–Zamfara–Zaria road project.

According to the minister, some inherited projects had been redesigned to incorporate reinforced concrete pavement to improve their durability.

Umahi further disclosed that the Tinubu administration had completed nearly 400 kilometres of roads in the North-West within three years, while approximately 4,000 kilometres of road projects were ongoing in the region.

He added that the Abuja–Kaduna–Zaria–Kano Highway would improve transportation and economic activities in the North-West and other parts of the country.
