2027: OYO APC GOVERNORSHIP CANDIDATE EXPRESSES CONFIDENCE IN VICTORY

The Oyo State governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Senator Sharafadeen Alli, has expressed confidence that the party is well-positioned to secure victory in the major elective positions in the state during the 2027 general elections.
Alli spoke on Monday at the inauguration of Local Government Campaign Managers for the BSA/Adedeji campaign team at the APC Campaign Office in Dandaru, Mokola, Ibadan North Local Government Area.
The senator, who represents Oyo South Senatorial District in the National Assembly, said the APC was working towards winning the presidential, National Assembly, governorship and House of Assembly elections in the state.
He urged party leaders and supporters to intensify grassroots mobilisation and strengthen the party’s structures ahead of the elections.
Alli said the newly inaugurated campaign managers had an important role to play in converting the party’s existing structures into effective grassroots mobilisation networks across the state.
He tasked them with consolidating the APC’s presence in their respective local government areas, wards and communities while engaging party members, supporters and other stakeholders.
“We are strategically positioned to win the presidential, National Assembly, governorship and House of Assembly elections in Oyo in 2027,” Alli said.
“But victory requires hard work at the grassroots. We must go to the people, engage them and strengthen our structures across the state.
“Our Local Government Campaign Managers have a major responsibility to ensure that the APC is firmly rooted in every local government, ward and community.”
He described the appointments as a call to service and stressed that sustained engagement with voters and party members would remain central to the campaign.
Alli also urged APC leaders and members to maintain unity and work together, saying the party’s electoral objectives would require effective coordination and collective effort.
“This is not about individuals. It is about the party and our collective responsibility to build a stronger APC in Oyo,” he said.
The governorship candidate further advised the campaign managers to remain focused on their assignments and ensure that the party’s programmes and messages reached communities across the state.
Earlier, the Director-General of the campaign organisation, Prince Yemi Aderibigbe, described the inauguration as another step in the APC’s preparations for the 2027 elections.
Aderibigbe expressed confidence in the party’s organisational structure and urged members to work collectively to strengthen its presence across the state.
In July 2026, Alli approved a number of appointments into his campaign organisation as part of efforts to enhance preparations for the 2027 governorship election.
The appointments followed the selection of Yemi Aderibigbe as Director-General of the campaign organisation.
Under the new structure, Hon. Sola Ogunbode was appointed Deputy Director-General, while Barrister Lowo Obisesan, Rt. Hon. Asimiyu Alarape and Hon. Rasaq Raji were named Assistant Directors-General for Oyo South, Oyo Central and Oyo North Senatorial Districts respectively.
According to the campaign organisation, the appointments are aimed at strengthening grassroots mobilisation, improving coordination across the three senatorial districts and enhancing preparations for the 2027 governorship election.
