Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen is set to touch down in Istanbul this week as Turkish giants Galatasaray prepare to unveil him following the finalisation of his €75 million transfer from Italian club Napoli.

According to reports by Turkish outlet *Fanatik*, Galatasaray Vice President Abdullah Kavukcu is expected to travel to Italy on Tuesday or Wednesday to complete the high-profile deal. Upon finalising the paperwork, Kavukcu is anticipated to return to Istanbul with Osimhen.

The 26-year-old forward will be formally introduced to Galatasaray fans in a special unveiling ceremony during their home match against Lazio on Saturday, August 2. All terms have reportedly been agreed upon between Napoli, the player’s representatives, and Galatasaray management.

The deal includes a €40 million upfront payment to Napoli, with the remaining €35 million scheduled to be paid by the end of 2026. Osimhen is set to earn an annual salary of €16 million at the Turkish club.

Osimhen enjoyed a prolific run in the previous season, featuring in 41 matches for Napoli and recording 37 goals alongside eight assists.

Beyond the pitch, Osimhen has remained open about his humble roots in Lagos, Nigeria. In a recent interview shared via a YouTube channel, the striker reflected on his early struggles growing up in a one-room apartment with his parents and six siblings.

“Seven children, my mum, and my dad all lived in a single room. Most people who know me know that I would have succeeded even without football. But the conditions where I grew up were far from encouraging,” he said.

He shared that financial hardship once forced him to quit football temporarily, taking on menial jobs like fetching water to survive. “But I always knew my true calling was football,” he added.

Despite rising to global fame, Osimhen has also spoken candidly about the downside of stardom. In a recent video posted by Instablog9ja, the striker revealed that fame has often deprived him of personal moments, including missing his daughter’s first public outing due to crowd attention.

“Fame is boring. Sometimes you want to go outside, and you cannot do a lot of things,” he said, adding that he finds comfort in mingling with everyday people despite security concerns.

As fans await his arrival in Istanbul, Osimhen’s journey from the streets of Lagos to one of Europe’s most iconic clubs continues to inspire. His signing is expected to mark a major boost for Galatasaray’s ambitions both domestically and in European competitions.
