Former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, has said he did not purchase the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential form with the intention of becoming a vice president.
Amaechi made the statement on Monday during an interview on Trust TV, amid discussions on the party’s presidential ticket contest.
The former Rivers State governor said that if the ADC seeks a consensus arrangement, it should be discussed among aspirants, but if there is no agreement, the party should proceed to primaries.
“Please stop that. I didn’t buy the ADC presidential ticket to become Vice President,” he said.
He also recalled earlier exchanges with former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, insisting that the issue of zoning and primaries should be settled democratically.
