MAN ARRESTED IN LAGOS FOR ALLEGEDLY ASSAULTING WIFE FOUR DAYS AFTER CHILDBIRTH

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a man accused of physically assaulting his wife just four days after she gave birth to their child.
The incident, which has sparked public outrage, was brought to light by actress Omosalewa Fafowora, who shared a video showing the moment police officers arrived at the couple’s residence to apprehend the suspect.
In the video, an officer can be heard stating that the victim is currently hospitalized and on oxygen support. An elderly woman, believed to be the victim’s mother, was seen cradling the newborn baby.
Fafowora alleged that the man beat his wife in the presence of her mother until she lost consciousness. The victim was then rushed to a hospital where she remains in critical condition.
The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA), in response to the viral video, confirmed the arrest of the suspect and said the case is under investigation.
The agency reiterated its commitment to ensuring justice for survivors of domestic violence and urged the public to continue speaking out against abuse.
