JUST IN: TINUBU LIFTS EMERGENCY RULE IN RIVERS STATE, ASSEMBLY RESUMES OFFICE SEPT 18

President Bola Tinubu has abolished the State of Emergency in Rivers State and has instructed Governor Sim Fubara, his deputy, and members of the State House of Assembly to reconvene on Thursday, September 18.
The President, in a statement, announced that peace has been restored in the state.

The announcement stated: “It consequently brings me immense satisfaction to proclaim that the crisis in Rivers State of Nigeria will conclude effective from midnight today. The Governor, His Excellency Siminalayi Fubara, the Deputy Governor, Her Excellency Ngozi Nma Odu, as well as members of the Rivers State House of Assembly and the Speaker, Martins Amaewhule, will recommence their duties in their offices from 18 September 2025. “
