Real Madrid C. F. has announced disciplinary sanctions against midfielders Federico Valverde and Aurélien Tchouaméni following an internal investigation into an incident involving both players.
In an official statement released by the club, Real Madrid disclosed that the two players appeared before the investigator assigned to the disciplinary case initiated against them on Thursday.
According to the club, Valverde and Tchouaméni expressed “complete remorse” over the incident and apologized to one another during the proceedings.
The statement added that both players also extended apologies to the club, their teammates, members of the coaching staff, and supporters.
Real Madrid further stated that the players had made themselves available to accept any disciplinary action considered appropriate by the club.
“As a result, Real Madrid has decided to impose a financial penalty of five hundred thousand euros on each player, thereby concluding the corresponding internal procedures,” the statement read.
The club did not disclose further details regarding the incident that led to the disciplinary action.
