
APC SETS NEW DATE FOR PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATES SCREENING

The APC has set a new deadline for the vetting of its presidential candidates for the 2023 general elections.
Suleiman Argungu, the party’s National Organising Secretary, made the announcement on Monday in Abuja.
On Tuesday, May 24th, and Wednesday, May 25th, at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel Abuja, the party will screen the 28 presidential hopefuls who got forms.
The screening exercise had been postponed for the second time on Sunday after it was canceled last weekend. The change in plans, however, was not explained.
Vice President Yemi Osibanjo, APC National Leader Bola Tinubu, ex-Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi, and former Minister of Niger Delta Development, Sen. Godswill Akpabio, are among those who have filed their applications.
Prof. Ben Ayade, Governor of Cross River State; Gov. Dave Umahi, Governor of Ebonyi State; Dr. Kayode Fayemi, Governor of Ekiti State; Emeka Nwajiuba, ex-Minister of State for Education; and Sen. Ken Nnamani, former Senate President, are among the others.
