BBNAIJA STAR, MIKE EDWARDS BECOMES TWO-TIME HIGH JUMP CHAMPION FOR NIGERIA

He has been named the nation’s champion and will compete for Nigeria at the Commonwealth Games.
Mike Edwards, a Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) celebrity, has reclaimed his title as Nigeria’s high jump champion.
At the current 2022 National Trials, 32-year-old Edwards was named the Nigerian high jump champion.
At the National trials, which the Athletics Federation of Nigeria, AFN, arranged, Edwards made his mark.
At the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City, Edo State, Edwards, a former high jumper for Great Britain, competed.
After taking part in Big Brother Naija Season 4, popularly known as Big Brother Naija: Pepper Dem edition, Edwards rose to fame.
By successfully defending his National title at the trails, Edwards, an African Champion Silver medallist, adds another honor to his collection.
After clearing a season-best 2.20 meters, he won the high jump competition.
Edwards celebrated his most recent accomplishment on his official Instagram account.

Edwards is anticipated to be a member of Nigeria’s delegation to the 2022 Commonwealth Games, which will be held in Birmingham and begin in July and are officially known as the XXII Commonwealth Games.
Edwards was unable to compete in the 2018 edition, which was sanctioned by the International Amateur Athletic Federation and the International Association of Athletics Federations, in Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia (IAAF).
